On 11/11/2020, Good of the Whole offered an all-day environment for a Healing Experience and an opportunity for us to get to know one another on a more intimate level. We shared stories; we were honest, vulnerable, and open to change. On that day, the 12 Revolutionary Agreements were introduced by its author, Marian Head, and two certified RA Coaches, Sharon Hardy and Linda Rosenthal.
It was clear that many of us in The Connection Field wanted to learn more about these transformative agreements, from Marian’s book, “Revolutionary Agreements – A Personal Path to Peace on Earth” (www.agreementsinstitute.com)Each week, in the Connection Field Digest, Linda and Sharon will give a very brief overview of each agreement, so that each one of us can benefit by living them and enjoying greater inner peace every day.The three pillars of the Revolutionary Agreements are:Truth, Acceptance, and GratitudeThere are four agreements under each one.
This agreement is the 4th under the pillar of Gratitude and the last one!
Excerpt from the book Revolutionary Agreements:
"Who is responsible for you having a good time at a party? You are! not the host, food, music, guests or games. In life, too, you get to choose the attitude you bring. If you are waiting for your significant other to create joy in your relationship - give it up. If you are waiting for things to get better at work so you can enjoy your job more - give it up. Indeed, if you are waiting for anything to happen or change or improve before you can start to enjoy your life, give it up." This is a truly revolutionary agreement we can make with ourselves.
We all have difficult moments, day and challenging situations. When someone asks how you are, you can report on the state of these difficulties -- or you can choose to create a new reality by answering differently - I am doing great! Smile as you say it and feel your spirit lift. That answer is actually more real than the feelings you may have just been stuck in.
Lightning Up is about being present in the moment, to the moment. Being here and now, taking a breath and finding the joy. Many of us were taught to value suffering and drama, and did not have role models for feeling really good, being happy and content. This agreement asks you to create the intention to be light, find light, share light. Light up your world with your love, laughter and joy.
